NEW HAVEN, Conn., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Steady rain forced the postponement of first-round play Sunday at the Pilot Pen Tennis event in New Haven, Conn.

Two matches were under way, with Donald Young leading Stephane Robert 2-1 and Evgeny Korolev was beating Frederico Gil 1-0 when rain forced a halt in play.

Play is to resume Monday.
