MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Scott Baker held the Los Angeles Angels to five hits in seven innings Sunday and the Minnesota bullpen mopped up in Minnesota's 4-0 win over the Angels.

Baker (11-9), who walked two and struck out four, gave way to Jesse Crain and Matt Capps, who each pitched a scoreless inning. It was Baker's first win against the Angels in nine starts.

Michael Cuddyer hit a three-run double and Danny Valencia homered to provide Minnesota's offensive clout in the rubber match of a three-game series at Target Field.

The Twins now hold a five-game lead over Chicago in the American League Central after the White Sox lost to Kansas City Sunday.

Hideki Matsui and Alberto Callaspo accounted for the bulk of the Los Angeles offense with two hits apiece.

Jered Weaver (11-9) gave up all four runs on six hits and four walks in six innings.

The Angels placed infielder Maicer Izturis on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, citing inflammation and soreness in his lower right shoulder. It's the third time on the DL this season for Izturis, who is hitting .245 with three home runs and 25 RBI in 56 games.

The team is calling up pitcher Jordan Walden from Class AAA Salt Lake to take Izturis's roster spot.
