COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Jason Garey scored the go-ahead goal in the 53rd minute Saturday, boosting the Columbus Crew to a 3-1 victory over Colorado.

With the score tied 1-1, Garey collected a poor clearance from Colorado defender Marvell Wynne and powered a first-time shot past Colorado goalie Matt Pickens from 18 yards out.

Steven Lenhart added an insurance tally, scoring 10 minutes from time in a steady downpour when he headed home a shot from a few yards out for his fifth goal of the season.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto had a goal and an assist for the Crew (12-5-4).

Colorado (7-6-7) got its only score from Pablo Mastroeni. The Rapids slipped to 1-3-7 in their last 10 games.
