GREENSBORO, N.C., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Arjun Atwal carded a 5-under 67 Saturday and emerged as the sole leader of the Wyndham Championship after three rounds.
Atwal had first place to himself after 18 holes and shared the top spot with Brandt Snedeker after two rounds. But he again grabbed sole possession of the leaderboard Saturday, posting a three-stroke lead at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina.
He ended 54 holes at 17-under 193, three up on Scott McCarron (63), Scott Piercy (64) and Lucas Glover (67), who were knotted in second place at minus-14.
Snedeker, who won the 2007 Wyndham, stumbled to a 1-under 69, good for a fifth-place tie with Will MacKenzie (65), Garrett Willis (65), David Toms (65), Justin Leonard (66) and John Rollins (68) at 13-under 197.
