PITTSBURGH, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Josh Johnson rebounded from his worst start of the year Wednesday and barely out-dueled Ross Ohlendorf to bring Florida to a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.
Johnson (11-5) gave up six runs on 10 hits in just 3 2/3 innings at Cincinnati Friday. He recovered against Pittsburgh, limiting the Pirates to two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts over eight frames.
Ohlendorf (1-10) took a hard-luck loss after surrendering only four hits and three runs in eight innings.
Florida's Dan Uggla and Pittsburgh's Ryan Doumit traded solo homers in the second, and Chad Tracy put the Marlins in front with an RBI single in the fifth.
Florida took a 3-1 lead in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Hanley Ramirez.
Andrew McCutchen brought Pittsburgh within a run with a homer in the eighth, but the Pirates could not take advantage of a lead-off walk off Leo Nunez in the ninth. Nunez then struck out two batters and got Delwyn Young on a groundout to end the game and earn his 27th save.
