ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Casey McGehee had three hits, including a two-run homer, Tuesday to help the Milwaukee Brewers edge St. Louis 3-2.
Dave Bush (6-10) turned in six solid innings for the Brewers, who held off the Cardinals after scoring all three of their runs in the third inning.
Bush, who chalked up his first win since July 25, was charged with one run on four hits and three strikeouts. John Axford recorded his 18th save.
Jaime Garcia (10-6) took the loss after allowing three unearned runs on five hits over six innings.
Garcia loaded the bases in the third on a walk, single and a fielder's choice before giving up a run on a double-play ball off the bat of Prince Fielder. McGehee followed with the long ball to center to make it 3-0.
Albert Pujols had a solo home run in the fourth and the Cardinals cut the gap to one run in the eighth when Brendan Ryan scored from third on a wild pitch by Axford.
