
CINCINNATI, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Cedric Benson and James Johnson rushed for touchdowns and Dave Rayner kicked four field goals Sunday in a 33-24 Cincinnati exhibition win over Denver.
Cincinnati's David Jones returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter that put the Bengals ahead for the first time in the game.
Cincinnati scored 16 consecutive points in the second half in building a 33-17 fourth-quarter lead. Rayner had field goals of 27, 31 and 26 yards in the string and Johnson added a 1-yard scoring run.
Kyle Orton threw scoring passes of 12 yards to Eddie Royals and 6 yards to Brandon Lloyd in the first quarter but the Bengals came back in the next quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run by Benson, a 36-yard field goal from Rayner and Jones's interception. A late first-half 28-yard Matt Prater field goal left the score tied 17-17 at intermission.
Quarterback Tim Tebow made his NFL debut, completing 8-of-13 passes for 105 yards. He also scored on a 7-yard run on the game's final play.
