Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Anthony Dixon piled up 100 yards rushing and scored Sunday to lift the San Francisco 49ers to a 37-17 rout of Indianapolis in a preseason contest.
The rookie running back carried the ball 21 times and Alex Smith completed 3-of-9 passes for 37 yards and an interception for San Francisco, which took the exhibition season opener for both clubs.
Veteran quarterback David Carr, acquired during the off-season, went 9-of-11 passing for 98 yards and a touchdown for the 49ers, who picked off four Indianapolis passes.
Peyton Manning started the game for the Colts and completed 8-of-10 passes for 98 yards. He was sacked three times.
