MLB: San Diego 8, San Francisco 2

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Miguel Tejada's two-run single capped a big second inning for San Diego Sunday, carrying the Padres to an 8-2 win over San Francisco.

After Tony Gwynn Jr. and Everth Cabrera had given the Padres a 2-0 lead with RBI singles, Tejada delivered a two-out hit to drive in Cabrera and pitcher Wade LeBlanc for a 4-0 advantage.

LeBlanc (7-10) surrendered only two runs on four hits over seven innings of work to help the Padres increase their National League West lead over the Giants to 3 1/2 games.

Chase Headley and Yorvit Torrealba each chipped in with two hits and an RBI for the victors.

San Francisco ace Tim Lincecum (11-7) was pounded for six runs on eights in a brief 3 2/3-inning stint, losing his third straight start.

Buster Posey smacked a two-run homer for the Giants.
