HARRISON, N.J., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Edson Buddle produced his 13th goal of the season Saturday to bring Los Angeles its MLS-leading seventh road victory -- 1-0 over New York.

Buddle scored in the 10th minute and the Galaxy went on to post its 11th shutout of the season.

Los Angeles, cruising along in first place in the Western Conference, improved to 13-3-4. New York, which began the day six points behind Columbus for the lead in the East, fell to 9-7-4.

Buddle controlled a pass from Juninho and got around New York defender Tim Ream before driving a low shot past goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul.

Buddle missed a shot from point-blank range in the second half.
