WASHINGTON, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Miguel Montero hit two of Arizona's four home runs Saturday in powering the Diamondbacks to a 9-2 victory over Washington.
Montero hit a two-run shot in the second after Adam LaRoche had opened the inning with a double off Jason Marquis (0-5), who won 15 games with Colorado last season but remained winless for the Nationals.
Montero added a solo blast in the sixth. Gerardo Parra hit a home run in the third for Washington and Kelly Johnson contributed his 18th of the season, also in the third.
Arizona pounded out 14 hits in halting a two-game skid.
Ian Kennedy (7-9) lasted seven innings to get the win. He allowed both runs on five hits and struck out seven.
