BROOKLYN, Mich., Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Kasey Kahne won his second Sprint Cup pole of the season Friday and will start out front in Sunday's running of the CARFAX 400.

Kahne announced this week he will join Red Bull Racing in 2011 and then move to Hendrick Motorsports the following year to drive Mark Martin's car. Kahne currently drives for Richard Petty Motorsports.

Jimmie Johnson qualified .02 of a second behind Kahne. Clint Boyer was third, followed by Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya, who won last week's race at Watkins Glen.

Bowyer is currently 13th in the points standings and needs to climb one place to qualify for the chase for the championship.

Team owner Jack Roush returned to the racetrack for Friday's qualifying more than two weeks after he sustained serious injuries during a plane crash in Oshkosh, Wis. He was discharged from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota this week.
