NEW YORK, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Johan Santana threw a four-hit shutout Thursday in leading the New York Mets to a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Santana (10-6) needed just 115 pitches to complete the game. He walked two and struck out 10 in getting his second shutout out of the season. Troy Tulowitzki had two of the Rockies' hits, all of which were singles.

Colorado's Jason Hammel (8-7) surrendered two-run rallies in the first and seventh innings in taking the loss. He walked one and struck out four.

Jose Reyes led off the New York first with a single and stole second. That put him in position to reach home when Angel Pagan singled. Ike Davis hit a ground-rule double that moved Pagan to third and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Carlos Beltran.

Ruben Tejada walked with one out in the seventh and took third on a single by Santana. Reyes singled in Tejada and Santana made the score 4-0, reaching home on a sacrifice fly by Fernando Martinez.
