CINCINNATI, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Caroline Wozniacki, seeking her second tournament triumph in as many weeks, easily advanced Wednesday at the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open.

Wozniacki, a winner in Copenhagen a week ago and runner-up at last year's U.S. Open, crushed Sybille Bammer in the second round 6-0, 6-2.

Rain disrupted several of the day's matches, chief among them the marathon between Vera Zvonareva and Maria Kirilenko. Zvonareva, who finished second at Wimbledon this year, sat through a delay of more than 3 hours before defeating Kirilenko 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-2).

Fourth-seeded Kim Clijsters was a 7-5, 6-2 winner over Dinara Safina; No. 7 seed Agnieszka Radwanska sailed by Alisa Kleybanova 6-4, 6-2; and Maria Sharapova was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over Andrea Petkovic.

French Open champion Francesca Schiavone, seeded fifth, was upset by Elena Vesnina 6-4, 6-4 and third-seeded Elena Dementieva fell to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 6-3.
