Nalbandian downs Baghdatis in Washington

WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- David Nalbandian of Argentina prevailed over Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis Sunday to collect the title of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington.

It took wild card Nalbandian two hours to post his 11th career title and first since winning in Sydney in January 2009.

Nalbandian collected $281,500 in prize money with the victory.

Baghdatis, a finalist at the 2006 Australian Open, failed in his bid to win his second title of the season.
