Bruce Chen (7-5) allowed only two otherr Mariners hits, didn't walk any batters and struck out four.
Seattle's David Pauley (0-4) let two Royals score on a five-hit, three-walk performance that lasted 5 1/3 innings. Pauley is winless in 18 career games (10 starts).
