Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
BLAINE, Minn., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- David Frost pulled far away from the field Sunday, firing an 11-under-par 61 to win the 3M Championship by seven shots and claim his first senior tour title.
Frost posted two eagles, including one on the last hole to put an exclamation mark on his historic showing in which he finished at 25-under 191, matching the Champions Tour record for lowest all-time 54-hole score.
His three-day performance at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine, Minn., was the lowest-ever tour score in relation to par. His seven-shot victory also matched the largest margin of victory this year on the senior circuit.
Mark Calcavecchia, the co-leader with Frost entering the final round, ended up a distant second with a 4-under 68, finishing at 18-under 198.
Sharing third place at minus-17 were Tommy Armour III (65), David Peoples (67) and Nick Price (64).
Kirk Hanefeld (68) and Jeff Sluman (67) tied for sixth at 16-under 200.
