SEATTLE, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Chone Figgins had three RBI and Ryan Langerhans hit a homer Friday to send the Seattle Mariners coasting to a 7-1 victory over Kansas City.
In eight previous starts against Seattle, 2009 American League Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke had posted a 4-0 record with a 1.64 ERA. Greinke, however, gave up 10 hits and six runs over seven innings Friday to see his record fall to 7-11.
Langerhans overcame an early 1-0 deficit with a solo homer in the third and Figgins added an RBI single later in the inning to put the Mariners in front.
Figgins also had a two-run double in the sixth.
Luke French (1-2) got the win with an eight-inning effort, during which he gave up a run on nine hits with four strikeouts. The other four wins in French's career came last season, which began with Detroit and ended with Seattle.
