PITTSBURGH, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Troy Tulowitzki singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh Friday, helping Colorado to its sixth win in eight games with a 6-3 decision over Pittsburgh.

The Pirates rallied to tie it in the sixth on a three-run homer from Pedro Alvarez, but Colorado quickly regained the advantage in the seventh. Carlos Gonzalez reached on a two-out single off Chan Ho Park (2-2), moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on Tulowitzki's single to center.

Gonzalez tacked on a sacrifice fly RBI and Jason Giambi had an RBI single, both coming in the ninth.

The homer by Alvarez was one of only three hits allowed by winning pitcher Jason Hammel (8-6) over six innings.

Huston Street gave up a hit in the ninth en route to his seventh save.
