Cejka leads Turning Stone Championship

VERONA, N.Y., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Alex Cejka shot a 4-under 68 Friday and held a one-shot lead after 36 holes of the Turning Stone Championship.

Cejka, a native of Czechoslovakia and now a resident of Germany, has won 11 times around the world but never in the United States. He posted a two-day total of 10-under 134 at the Turning Stone Resort Atunyote course.

He has missed the cut in three of his last four events on the PGA Tour this season, but in the one event he did survive the cut he finished tied for fifth at the Reno-Tahoe Open.

Rory Sabbatini and Chris Tidland shared second place at 135.

Those tied for fourth at 137 included Robert Garrigus, Woody Austin, John Mallinger, Brian Davis, Omar Uresti and former PGA Championship winner Steve Elkington.
