MLS: Columbus 2, Philadelphia 1

CHESTER, Pa., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Steven Lenhart came off the bench to score both Columbus goals Thursday and lead the Crew to a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia.

Lenhart scored his third goal of the season in the first half and his fourth in the second, allowing Columbus (11-4-4) to open a 10-point lead atop the Eastern Conference.

His first goal came in the 43rd minute when he re-directed a free kick by Guillermo Barros Schelotto past goalkeeper Chris Seitz.

Sebastien Le Toux converted a penalty kick in stoppage time at the end of the first half to tie it. He leads the Union (4-9-3) with nine goals.

Emilio Renteria set up the winning goal early in the second half by taking the ball down the right side before crossing to Lenhart.

Lenhart dove to get his head on the ball and put it just inside the right post from in close.
