ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Veteran guard Jason Williams is sticking with the Orlando Magic for another year, the NBA club announced Tuesday.

The 34-year-old free agent averaged 6 points, 3.6 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 82 games last season, his first after ending his retirement that started in September 2008.

"Jason played very well for us last season," Magic General Manager Otis Smith said. "He provides veteran leadership to our backcourt and knows what it takes to win. We are happy to have him back on our team."

He has averaged 10.8 points and 6 assists in 761 career games with Sacramento, Memphis, Miami and Orlando. He won an NBA title with the Heat in 2006.
