
ST. LOUIS, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Angel Sanchez led a 22-hit attack, going 4-for-6 with six RBI Tuesday to power the Houston Astros to an 18-4 rout of St. Louis.
Sanchez knocked a two-run double in the second to cap a five-run Houston outburst and added a bases-clearing triple in the sixth to make it 9-3 Astros. He completed his big night with and RBI single in the seventh.
Chris Johnson added two hits and three RBI, Pedro Feliz went 3-for-6 with two runs driven in and Carlos Lee contributed three hits and three runs scored for the Astros.
Bud Norris (4-7) yielded four runs on seven hits in six innings to claim the victory.
Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia (9-5) was roughed up for eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits in a five-inning start.
St. Louis remained a half-game behind first-place Cincinnati in the National League Central despite the loss.
