MLB: Boston 3, Cleveland 1

BOSTON, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Josh Beckett dominated Cleveland on three hits over eight innings Tuesday and the Boston Red Sox downed the Indians 3-1.

Beckett (3-1) posted his second straight win in his third outing since returning from the disabled list, allowing one run, striking out eight and walking none.

Jonathan Papelbon notched his 25th save by tossing a scoreless ninth as the Red Sox evened a four-game series with the Indians at a game apiece.

Mike Lowell and Bill Hall socked solo homers for the victors.

David Huff (2-10) allowed seven hits in 5 1/3 innings for Cleveland, walking two and striking out two.
