Kevin Gregg picked up his 24th save despite surrendering a ninth-inner homer to Nick Swisher, the New York outfielder's second homer of the game.
Yankees starter A.J. Burnett (9-9) was rocked for eight runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.
New York third baseman Alex Rodriguez again failed to hit his 600th career homer, going 0-for-5 to remain stuck at 599 career blasts.
