Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Rookie left-hander Travis Wood allowed only two hits in seven innings Monday and the Cincinnati Reds blanked Pittsburgh 4-0.
Wood (2-1), making only his sixth career start, handcuffed the Pirates through seven scoreless innings, walking one and striking out four.
Russ Springer and Arthur Rhodes finished up the shutout with one scoreless frames apiece and Miguel Cairo collected two RBI with a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly.
Chris Heisey added a solo homer for the Reds, who began the night a half-game behind first-place St. Louis in the National League Central.
Ross Ohlendorf (1-9) was saddled with the loss for the Pirates after yielding three runs on five hits and four walks in five innings.
