DENVER, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Carlos Gonzalez capped a cycle with a ninth-inning, game-winning homer Saturday, leading the Colorado Rockies to a 6-5 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Having already collected a single, double and triple, Gonzalez came up to lead off the ninth against Sean Marshall (6-3) in a 5-5 game and launched a long blast into the upper deck in right field, completing the sixth cycle in Rockies history.
Gonzalez finished 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Melvin Mora also had four hits with an RBI to boost the Rockies to a series win against the Cubs.
Colorado closer Huston Street (2-2) pitched a scoreless top of the ninth to pick up the victory.
Derek Lee smashed a three-run homer for the Cubs, who earlier in the day traded left-handed starter Ted Lilly and infielder Ryan Theriot to the Dodgers for infielder Blake DeWitt and a pair of minor-leaguers.
