LONG POND, Pa., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Greg Biffle won for the first time in nearly two years Sunday, taking the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway.

Biffle laid back for most of the race but made a move in the late going, grabbing the lead from Sam Hornish Jr. just after the final restart with 21 laps left.

He went on to finish 3.5 seconds ahead of second-place Tony Stewart, collecting his 15th career Sprint Cup win but his first in 64 races dating to since September 2008 at Dover.

Carl Edwards came in third and Sprint Cup points leader Kevin Harvick was fourth.

Denny Hamlin, the two-time defending Pocono winner, ended up in fifth place and Hornish fell to 11th.

The race was delayed twice by rain and once by a nasty crash involving Elliott Sadler and Kurt Busch with 36 laps to go. Neither driver was injured.
