CHICAGO, July 31 (UPI) -- Dallas Braden notched a complete game victory Saturday, carrying the Oakland Athletics to a 6-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Braden (6-7) held the Sox to two runs on eight hits and a walk to beat Chicago for a second consecutive start. Braden, who struck out five, also set the Chisox down 6-4 last weekend in Oakland.
The A's lefty allowed only a two-run homer to Andruw Jones in the seventh inning en route to the victory, which snapped Chicago's 12-game home winning streak.
Daric Barton's two-run single capped a four-run outburst in the second inning that gave Oakland the lead for good. Kevin Kouzmanoff added a solo homer for the victors.
John Danks (11-8) surrendered five runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Chisox, who saw their lead in the American League Central dwindle to a half-game over Minnesota.
