

GSTAAD, Switzerland, July 29 (UPI) -- Mikhail Youzhny claimed a straight-set victory Friday in grabbing a quarterfinal berth at the Allianz Suisse Open tennis event in Switzerland.
Youzhny, the tournament's No. 1 seed, lost his serve only once in the 7-5, 6-4 win over Alexander Sadecky. He broke Sadecky's serve three ties, including twice in the second set.
Yuri Schukin earned a shot in Friday's quarters against Youzhny with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Frederico Gil. He had six service breaks in nine games, which allowed him to survive three breaks by Gil.
Another quarterfinal was set after wins by second-seeded Nicolas Almagro and Jeremy Chardy.
Almagro escaped a challenge from Michael Lammer, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Almagro won 52 percent of the points off Lammer's serve and had seven breaks.
Chardy topped Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 6-2, taking 57 percent of the points in the match.
Friday's other quarterfinal matches have No. 4-seeded Albert Montanes playing seventh-seeded Richard Gasquet and Daniel Gimeno-Traver taking on Igor Andreev.
