All the seeded players on Wednesday's schedule advanced to Friday's quarterfinals.

No. 8-seeded Juan Ignacio Chela was on the court more than three times longer than Davydenko in his 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 6-1 victory over Simone Bolelli. Chela won all but three of the points off Bolelli's serve in the third set in earning a quarterfinals berth against Davydenko.
