Zach Duke (5-9) got the win, allowing two runs on three hits over six innings. Octavio Dotel pitched the ninth for his 21st save.

Pittsburgh took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Jose Tabata's RBI single and a wild pitch that Tabata scored on.

After Colorado tied it 2-2 in the fifth, Pittsburgh scored the decisive run in the sixth on an RBI double by Garret Jones. Walker tacked on the insurance run in the eighth with his fourth home run of the year.
