PHILADELPHIA, July 27 (UPI) -- Ryan Howard homered, went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs Tuesday to spark the Philadelphia Phillies' 9-5 comeback win over Arizona.
Howard's blast capped a three-run rally in the sixth inning that saw the Phils erase a 5-4 deficit and secure their season-best sixth straight win and ninth straight at home.
Cody Ransom and Jayson Werth each contributed a two-run homer for the Phillies and David Herndon (1-2) got his first major league victory despite giving up a lead he inherited from starter Cole Hamels in the sixth inning.
The Diamondbacks got a homer and two RBI from Mark Reynolds.
Arizona reliever Jordan Norberto (0-1) was saddled with the loss after yielding two runs and two hits in the sixth.
