NEW YORK, July 27 (UPI) -- Jeff Francoeur and Jose Reyes belted home runs Tuesday and the New York Mets rocked St. Louis 8-2.

Carlos Beltran chipped in with two hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Mets, who returned home after a disastrous 2-9 road trip to take the first of a three-game set with the Cardinals at Citi Field.

Jonathan Niese (7-4) picked up the victory, yielding just one run on seven hits and two walks over six-plus innings.

St. Louis starter Adam Wainwright (14-6) saw his 25-inning scoreless streak come to a halt. He was roughed up for a season-high six runs on six hits and three walks in five innings.

The loss was the fourth in five games for the Cards.
