HOUSTON, July 27 (UPI) -- Brett Myers tossed a four-hit complete game and Lance Berkman cracked a grand slam Tuesday to carry the Houston Astros to a 6-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Myers (8-6) struck out 12 batters and yielded only one run on four hits in his second complete game of the season and 10th of his career.

Myers issued one walk in his 124-pitch gem, allowing only a ninth-inning solo homer to Tyler Colvin, and the Astros evened their three-game series with the Cubs at a game apiece.

Berkman's bases-loaded blast came in the seventh to cap a six-run outburst against Chicago rookie reliever Andrew Cashner (1-4), who walked two and gave up two hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Cubs starter Ted Lilly struck out eight and allowed five hits in 5 2/3 shutout innings.
