J.D. Drew added a two-run double and Kevin Youkilis contributed three hits for the victors.

Buchholz (11-5) rebounded from his worst start in two months in his previous outing against Oakland, holding the Angels to one run on five hits over seven innings.

Dan Haren (7-9) started for Los Angeles a day after he was obtained in a trade from Arizona and took the loss. He was removed from the game after 4 2/3 innings when he was struck on forearm by a line drive off the bat of Youkilis.

Haren allowed two runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings in his Angels debut, striking out eight.
