NASHVILLE, July 26 (UPI) -- The Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Parent has signed to a two-year, $1.85 million contract, the team said Monday.

Parent, 23, was drafted by the Predators, then sent to Philadelphia in a 2007 trade for Peter Forsberg. Nashville reacquired Parent from Philadelphia in a June deal that saw defenseman Dan Hamhuis go to the Flyers.

Under the terms of his new deal, Parent will be paid $850,000 in the upcoming 2010-11 season and $1 million the following year.

Parent notched a goal and two assists in 48 regular season games last year and then added a goal in 17 playoff games during the Flyers' run to the Stanley Cup Finals.
