MLB: Minnesota 10, Baltimore 4

BALTIMORE, July 25 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel's grand-slam homer highlighted a 19-hit Twins attack Sunday and Minnesota pounded Baltimore 10-4 in a rain-delayed contest.

Kubel's slam in the third inning put the Twins up 4-1 and Minnesota went on to add homers by Delmon Young, Jim Thome and Jason Repko in taking three of four at Camden Yards.

Kubel and Danny Valencia finished 3-for-5, Nick Punto went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Alexi Casilla added three hits for the Twins, who pulled to within 1 1/2 games of the American League Central-leading Chicago White Sox.

Kevin Slowey (9-5) was effective in a six-inning start, holding the O's to one run on five hits over six frames.

Baltimore starter Jake Arrieta (3-3) was pounded for five runs on seven hits in four innings.
