MLB: LA Dodgers 1, New York Mets 0

LOS ANGELES, July 25 (UPI) -- Russell Martin stroked a two-out double in the eighth inning Sunday to hand the Los Angeles Dodgers a 1-0 decision over the New York Mets.

Martin's hit made a winner of Clayton Kershaw (10-5), who hurled eight scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and a walk and striking out three to pace the Dodgers to their fourth win in five games.

Kenley Jansen notched his first career save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

New York reliever Pedro Feliciano (2-5) absorbed the loss, yielding the decisive run on two hits. Mets starter R.A. Dickey went 5 2/3 innings before leaving with a left leg injury.

The Mets limped home after going a 2-9 on a West Coast road trip.
