With two on and one out, Jason Frasor (3-3) yielded a run-scoring double to Miguel Cabrera. Brennan Boesch was intentionally walked to load the bases and Rabun followed by golfing a pitch to the center field wall, scoring all three runners and giving Detroit a split in its four-game series with the Blue Jays.

Phil Coke (6-1) collected the victory with a scoreless eighth and Jose Valverde picked up his 21st save despite allowing a solo homer to DeWayne Wise in the ninth inning.

Wise finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and Jose Bautista hit his major league- leading 27th homer for Toronto.
