PORTOROZ, Slovenia, July 24 (UPI) -- Slovenian Polona Hercog couldn't capitalize on her early momentum Saturday, falling to Russian Anna Chakvetadze in a Slovenia Open semifinal in Portoroz.
After taking the first set 6-0, the home crowd favorite couldn't put Chakvetadze away and the Russian came back to take the final two sets 6-2, 6-2 and move into Sunday's final against Sweden's Johanna Larsson.

Larsson won Saturday's other semifinal match-up when Russian Ksenia Pervak retired in the second set trailing 6-2, 1-0.
Chakvetadze and Larsson will be facing each other for the first time.
