Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft

LOS ANGELES, July 23 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda limited New York to five hits over eight innings Thursday and the Los Angeles Dodgers blanked the Mets 2-0.
Kuroda (8-8) struck out four and walked only one to win for the second time in his last six decisions.
Hong-Chih Kuo came on in the ninth and walked one, but he struck out two and collected his third save.
Matt Kemp drove in both Los Angeles runs with a first-inning double following a walk to Jamey Carroll and a seventh-inning homer, his 17th of the season.
The runs were given up by Hisanori Takahashi (7-5), who allowed just three hits over seven innings. Other than the double and homer by Kemp, the only Los Angeles hit was a leadoff single by James Loney in the fifth.
