MINNEAPOLIS, July 21 (UPI) -- Francisco Liriano tossed seven shutout innings and Delmon Young drove in three runs Wednesday in the Minnesota Twins' 6-0 win over Cleveland.
Liriano (8-7) held the Indians to six hits, striking out eight and surviving four walks to improve to 4-0 against Cleveland this season and break the Tribe's six-game winning streak.
Jesse Crain and Anthony Slama, making his major league debut, each threw a scoreless inning to complete the shutout and enable the Twins to salvage one win in their three-game series with the Indians at Target Field.
Young went 3-for-5, including a third-inning RBI double to put the Twins up 1-0 and a bad-hop single past Cleveland shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera that drove in two more in the eighth.
Michael Cuddyer added two hits and an RBI for the Twins.
Indians starter Jake Westbrook (6-6) absorbed the loss, yielding four runs and walking five in six innings.
