HOUSTON, July 20 (UPI) -- Aramis Ramirez cracked three homers, driving in seven runs, and Derek Lee added three RBI Tuesday in the Chicago Cubs' 14-7 win over Houston.
Ramirez launched a solo shot in the fourth to ignite a Cubs comeback from a 6-0 deficit, and second his homer, a three-run shot, capped a five-run outburst in the fifth that pulled Chicago to within 7-6.
Geovany Soto's bases-empty homer in the sixth produced a 7-7 tie, and after the Cubs scored three more to take a lead, Ramirez launched another three-run blast in the eighth to turn the game into a rout.
The Cubs posted the big comeback on a day when Manager Lou Piniella announced he would retire from baseball at the end of the season.
Andrew Cashner (1-3) notched his first major league win, tossing two scoreless innings of relief.
Houston's Brandon Lyon (5-4) took the loss after allowing two runs in the seventh.
Chris Johnson homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Astros.
