CINCINNATI, July 18 (UPI) -- Aaron Cook hurled seven shutout innings and Chris Iannetta homered Sunday to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 1-0 decision over Cincinnati.
Cook (4-5) scattered six hits, walking only one and fanning five, rebounding from a poor start last week against St. Louis.
Joe Beimel and Rafael Betancourt combined for a scoreless eighth and Huston Street nailed down his sixth save despite allowing a pair of hits in the ninth, allowing the Rockies to salvage one contest in a three-game set with the Reds.
Iannetta's blast off rookie Travis Wood (0-1) in the sixth inning supplied the game's only run.
Wood yielded only three hits in a six-inning effort, walking four and striking out six for the Reds, who were locked in a battle with the Cardinals for the top spot in the National League Central.
