CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 13 (UPI) -- The Charlotte Bobcats sent center Tyson Chandler to the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday as part of a five-player deal.
Also moving from Charlotte to Dallas was center Alexis Ajinca while the Mavs sent center Erick Dampier, shooting guard Matt Carroll, forward Eduardo Najera and cash to Charlotte.
"Our main goal this offseason was finding a way to reshape this roster and continue the momentum we have established," Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins said.
Charlotte acquired Chandler from New Orleans in July 2009 in exchange for Emeka Okafor. In 51 games with the Bobcats last year, he averaged 6.5 points and 6.3 rebounds.
Dampier, who turns 35 Wednesday, has been with Dallas for six seasons. He averaged 6.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in 55 games last season.
