OAKLAND, Calif., July 11 (UPI) -- Trevor Cahill allowed only one unearned run in seven innings Sunday and the Oakland Athletics posted a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Cahill (9-3) baffled the Angels on five hits, issued a pair of walks and struck out three to boost the A's to a 43-46 record entering the All-Star break, good for third in the American League West.

Jack Cust hit a two-run homer as Oakland took the rubber match of a three-game series with the Angels.

Bobby Abreu knocked a solo homer and Jered Weaver (8-5) was lit up for five runs over six innings in the Angels' sixth loss in seven games entering the break.

Los Angeles fell to 47-44, 4 1/2 games behind Texas in second place in the American League West.
