HARRISON, N.J., July 10 (UPI) -- New York's Bouna Coundoul and D.C. United's Troy Perkins traded shutouts Saturday in creating a 0-0 tie.

It was the second straight draw for New York, which is unbeaten in five games. New York began the night two points behind Columbus for first place in the Eastern Conference.

United (3-9-3) has just one loss in six matches, but its poor start to the season has left it scrambling to stay out of last place.
