Oakland sent 11 men to the plate in the third with two of its first four runs in the inning coming in on a wild pitch and a bases-loaded walk.

The bases were still loaded when Davis came up for the second time in the inning, having doubled to lead off the frame. He hit a 2-1 pitch off Scott Kazmir over the wall in left-center for his third homer of the season.

Davis also doubled in a run in the fifth, during which Coco Crisp hit a three-run homer and Daric Barton had a solo shot.

Ben Sheets (4-8) threw six scoreless innings to get the win, giving up two hits and striking out four.

Kazmir (7-9) was left on the mound for five innings despite being blasted by the Athletics. He gave up 13 runs on 11 hits.
