MILWAUKEE, July 10 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder hit consecutive homers in the third inning Saturday and Milwaukee built a four-run lead before holding off Pittsburgh 4-3.
The home runs gave the Brewers a 3-0 cushion and they added a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Craig Counsell.
Pittsburgh came back to make a game of it, however, getting solo homers from Garrett Jones and Ryan Doumit.
Doumit's blast came leading off the ninth inning against John Axford. The rookie closer then retired the next three batters -- two of them on strikes -- to pick up his 10th save in as many chances.
Dave Bush (4-6) earned the win by limiting the Pirates to two runs on six hits with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings.
Jeff Karstens (2-4) was touched for four runs on five hits with a season-high six walks in five innings.
Pittsburgh has lost five straight and has dropped 37 of its 48 road games this season.
